As a new restaurant owner, the choice of high-quality air-conditioning should be on your list of priorities. Today's restaurant patrons not only look for great food and service. They need a comfortable ambience where they can relax and enjoy the company of friends and family.

WHY AIR-CONDITIONING IS SO IMPORTANT

Precise temperature control and airflow are necessary to make your restaurant patrons feel comfortable.

If it is too hot or cold, they will struggle to enjoy the fine food. An uncomfortable climate may overtake the other aspects of their dining experience.

Choosing the right air-conditioning system for your restaurant can be challenging. There are many factors to consider, for example:

Temperature Variations

Not only do your customers need absolute comfort in the dining room, but there are also other spaces requiring total temperature control. The kitchen, office and store-rooms all have their specific requirements.  For example:

  • The storage room will have a much colder setting than is comfortable in the other areas.
  • The kitchen area has unique demands because of the additional heat from cooking appliances, humidity and smoke.

Noise

All air-conditioning systems make some level of sound when operating and some can be reasonably noisy. A system that runs with a subtle, muted sound is a requirement, particularly in the dining room for customers to enjoy conversation

There are a number of different types of air conditioning systems to consider, depending on the size of your business and budget. Compare these different options:

WALL MOUNTED SYSTEMS

For a small to medium-sized business wall-mounted systems are a popular choice. This is not surprising because they are economical, easy to install and occupy less space, as they can be mounted high on walls.

Note that it may be necessary to install two units close together in areas requiring a boost in heating or cooling.

CASSETTE SYSTEMS

For the larger restaurant, a cassette air-conditioning system is an ideal choice. They have a sleek and attractive appearance and very low visibility, as they are ceiling mounted

Additionally, the air is ducted from outside and streamed in four different directions to ensure constant fresh and clean airflow

DUCTED SYSTEMS

Ducted air conditioning is the least visible and therefore most aesthetic option for a restaurant of any size. Small grills on the ceiling are the only indication of its presence.

However, it does require a considerable investment and the installation process takes a little longer than other systems.

Deciding on the right system is a challenging task, and fortunately, a professional air conditioning contractor can lead you through all the aspects to ensure you make the right choice.
